Our business is built on the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:
Goal #14 Conserve and sustainable use marine resources for sustainable development 100% of our fish is harvested from healthy stocks that are not subject to over-fishing. We locate our fish using Indigenous Traditional Knowledge that has been passed from our ancestors. We treat the marine ecosystem with respect and never harvest more fish that we need.
Goal #8 Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all Morin’s Fisheries is proudly Indigenous owned. We are an inclusive employer committed to best-in-class practices where every employee feels respected and valued for their contributions to the company’s success. We are a social enterprise that provides a bonus to fishers based on the quality of their catch that can be re-invested for equity in the business. We work hard to remove barriers that our Indigenous employees face to join and remain in our workforce.
Goal #12 Responsible consumption and productionMorin’s Fisheries’ dedication to sustainability extends to its sourcing of packaging, choice of suppliers and approach to waste management.
